Ahmadinejad’s inner circle takes another hit

The tensions between Iran’s president and parliament have intensified as impeachmentproceedings have been launched against the Foreign Minister, Ali Akbar Salehi.

Iran’s Parliament is seeking to impeach Salehi for appointing a controversial deputy. The deputy, Malekzadeh was a top official under Ahmadinejad’s chief of staff, Mashaie, whom many claim was seeking to undermine the Islamic regime.

The impeachment

is another stage in the recent unusually direct criticism of Ahmadinejad’s inner circle.
