Iran Arrests Family of Jailed Filmmaker

Muhammad Nourizad is a documentary filmmaker imprisoned in Iran, for “spreading propaganda against the government” and insulting Iran’s leaders. Iranian opposition websites have recently reported that Nourizad’s health is failing and he has been hospitalized. He also started a hunger strike last week.

So today, Nourizad’s wife, son, 2 daughters, parents, and brothers went to the prison he is being held in to check on his health.

And do you know what happened? They were arrested! Iranian authorities jailed the entire family for inquiring about the health of their imprisoned loved-one. Apparently, caring is also a crime in Iran.
